From Ozzy Osbourne’s CryptoBatz NFT club to Avenged Sevenfold, Megadeth’s NFT club, and even a Knotfest in the metaverse alongside other Slipknot collectibles—the landscape was first marked by legacy metal bands looking for another monetary boost by marketing to hardcore, tech-savvy fans.
Each of these ventures was a huge decision by the teams involved to test the waters of new technology and risk incurring the wrath of fans unfamiliar with blockchain. These fans often express fear and uncertainty due to other bad actors in the blockchain space running pyramid schemes left and right.
In other words, I don't blame those fans for being skeptical. However, I highly commend all these bands and their creative teams for testing the waters and taking that leap. It's a long-term decision with an unclear path, but it's well worth securing a place when the road opens up.
A Moment of Opportunity
The music industry stands at a crossroads. The challenges of recent years have accelerated the need for innovation. Artists are seeking new revenue streams, and fans crave deeper, more meaningful connections. Blockchain offers solutions that align perfectly with metal's ethos of authenticity and rebellion.
The Industry's Next Test
There's a sense that we're on the cusp of something big. The music scene as a whole is experimenting, learning, and gearing up for the next major evolution. The technology is ready, the fans are eager, and the artists are daring enough to take the plunge. The question isn't if blockchain will redefine metal music—it's when.
So, subscribe and come along for the ride as we discover new paths forward \m/

Last Week’s Challenge (Cont.)
Schizophrenic Terminator -
Though the challenge has been over for a while, we’re not hitting our stride and bringing challenges every week!
This first weekly challenge started with a poll in the W3M Discord. Community members voted for what they wanted to do and selected a restricted-style prompt challenge. For this challenge, all entries had to use the same first two words in their style prompt.
Everyone had to use the same first two words
The community voted on a poll to decide which two words everyone would have to use to start their prompts. Since Suno's style prompts are weighted, the first two words hold influence over the song's outcome. The chosen words were "schizophrenic" and "terminator." The challenge? Create and release a song using a style prompt that begins with those two words, separated by commas or not.
